India is called as the “Spice Bowl of the World” for production of variety of spices with superior quality. Growing spices for various purposes in India has been famous since the ancient times. The spices are growing as indispensable part of the modern food along with ever growing demand in medicine and cosmetic industries. Thus the demand for the spices are growing at faster rate. India is the top producing and exporting country of Curcuma longa L., which is commonly called as turmeric.
