Description

Developing innovative products often means realising new types of products and different customer requests. The requirements increase with each new customer and the production of these complex parts constantly presents a company with new challenges. New technologies ensure that customer requirements are met that sometimes go to the limits of technical manufacturability. Efficiency plays an important role here, because not only is the complexity of the parts increasing, but also the competition due to rising costs and the increasing quality demands of customers. Today, professional production facilities can be monitored and controlled using various tools. These possibilities have existed since the spread of industrial computers and are constantly growing with the increase in computing and storage power. But when is the manufacturing process optimised and what else can entrepreneurs do to position themselves better on the market? In this thesis, I would like to analyse the machine availability of some bottleneck machines and identify the weak points using the lean methods I learnt in my lean operations studies.
